Malaika Simmons

Malaika Simmons, founder of MpowR Solutions, is an experienced C-suite executive and financial services attorney with a demonstrated track record of dynamic leadership, strategic oversight, complex legal analysis, regulatory investigations, and insurance claims management.

 

Above all, she is a “people person” who is deeply invested in helping others realize their professional and personal potential. 

 

Having managed, interviewed, recruited, and trained more than 1,300 employees, Malaika is passionate about fostering authentic corporate communication and formed MpowR to do just that. 

 

Throughout her career, Malaika has been responsible for building diverse, cross-functional teams, effectuating process changes, implementing organizational initiatives, advising CEOs and Boards of Directors, demonstrating exceptional communication skills, and making critical, high-stakes financial and business decisions. She has served as an executive at a national insurance carrier and in various legal and non-legal corporate capacities. Her practice expertise includes complex commercial litigation, securities, M&A, medical malpractice, employment, regulatory matters, and domestic and international investigations.

Malaika earned a JD from Columbia Law School, where she was a member of the editorial board of the Columbia Law Review, and a BA cum laude with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. ​
